Turmeric Turkey Meatballs

Let’s start with a little confession….I know that when I started this blog I started with the premise of sharing my new plant-based lifestyle. While I still am about 85% plant-based I have been incorporating back into my diet some animal protein of turkey and chicken (no red meat or pork and I still remain eating salmon weekly). This was a personal decision as I have been more in tune with listening to my body as I get older. I found that my workouts took me longer to recover from and that my stamina was low. Plus sometimes my body just craves animal protein now and I am ok with that. I make sure that I always eat sustainably sourced which is always organic and grass-fed when possible.

That being said, I recently made these yummy turmeric turkey meatballs and they were delish! Do you know the benefits of turmeric? It helps fight chronic inflammation, is a great antioxidant and can help prevent cancer and lower your heart disease risk! So it’s kind of like a superfood if you ask me!
You can read more about the benefits here.
Now onto the meatballs! With just a few simple ingredients this recipe can be ready in no time. I paired it with roasted tomatoes over spinach but feel free to pair it with what you like. I also topped it off with a simple tahini dressing and it was good! (tahini with lemon juice, olive oil, warm water, S&P, and a little honey)

This is perfect for meal prep! Divide up a few portions and keep them ready in the fridge for lunches or dinners. You will reap all the added benefits of turmeric and have your meals prepped and planned in advance too! Another way to get you to your goals!

Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram when you give them a try! I love seeing your creations!
