Siggi’s is my go-to yogurt brand, I think you all know that by now! I love working with them as they are filled with protein, low in sugar and no funny ingredients. You know me to preach about buying foods that are organic (when possible), farm-fresh and not filled with preservatives to put into our bodies. But did you know that this goes for what you put ON your body too?!
Our skin is the largest organ in the body. “The skin is unique in many ways, but no other organ demands so much attention and concern in both states of disease and health. There is a huge focus on skin health, with fierce competition to have glowing, clearer, healthier, younger and fresher skin.” How well do we take care of it though?
What goes ON our body is as important as what goes IN!
I recently teamed up with Danielle DeCostello, Medical Aesthetician from Bella Organici to create a facial that was easy enough for us to do at home while using my fave brand Siggi’s. Mission accomplished! Like I mentioned before, Siggi’s has no funny stuff in it so you can feel good about putting it on your largest organ, SKIN!
The ingredients are simple and accessible which is what I strive for. Grab a container of Siggi’s plain yogurt, pure organic honey (Danielle used honey from Essex England which she sells right in her spa location) and turmeric from a farm in Oregon. Did you know turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components? These characteristics may provide glow and luster to the skin. Turmeric may also revive your skin by bringing out its natural glow. Who knew the benefits it had for skin?!
Next, you mix the ingredients into a paste and brush it onto your face and neck. Put on an eye pillow, relaxing music and let the magic happen for 10-15 minutes. Once you drift back to reality take a warm wet washcloth and gently wipe the mask away. That’s it! Let all the health benefits continue to sink in! My face felt smoother and moisture-rich, especially with this cold weather settling in I will take all the moisture I can get for my skin!
You can check my Instagram Post for videos on how the process all went down right in Danielle’s spa from start to finish!
Girls Spa Night?!
How fun and easy would this be for a girl’s spa night?! The ingredients are affordable and accessible. Add a little wine, essential oils and leave your worries behind all while beautifying your skin from the outside in! If you decide to skip the girl’s night at first and make it just for yourself, you will have yogurt leftover, add some of that honey to it and make a parfait! YUM!
Thank you, Danielle, for sharing with us your aesthetician expertise to recreate healthy affordable at-home facials. What I love about Bella Organici is that they use 90% organic if not plant-based or vegan ingredients plus they utilize our local farms too! So cool!
