Chocolate Energy Bites
Bite sized healthy snack with a chocolate twist
- 1.5 cups old fashioned oats
- 1.5 cups walnuts
- 1 tbsp flax meal
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 8 dates, softened in warm water
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup cocao powder
- 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/2 cup honey (or pure maple syrup)
Add first half of ingredeints (up to the chocolate mix) in a food processor or blender and mix well. Will have a sticky consistency.
Whisk the chocolate mix ingredients in a separate bowl. Then add to the oats mixture. Blend well together.
Option to put in the fridge to firm up before rolling into balls. About 20 minutes
Roll into bite sized balls. Lay on baking sheet and put in the fridge to firm up - about 30 minutes.
Once firm, transfer to air tight container and keep in fridge or freezer.
